Halo 3: ODST / Easter Eggs« Last post by HaloAdmin on October 06, 2016, 01:46:20 pm »Destiny Awaits
While roaming throughout the Mombasa streets, you'll occasionally run into various wall graffiti. One sign stands out more than all others and it's one with an image of the earth and a white object above it. With Destiny now revealed by Bungie, we know this is a nod towards their game. Weapon Cards There are a couple of these in the game but the easiest of find is on Tayari Plaza. Make your way through the game until you find a flight of stairs where there are some Elite and Brute bodies at the top. If you can hear Buck saying "What happened here?", you are in the right place. The Superintendent should reply with "Final notice, bill passed due". Continue upwards to a balcony with a dead Brute and Elite. To the right of the Elite you will see the card. The cards seem to show a number of never before seen Covie weapons. 13

Halo 3 / Easter Eggs« Last post by HaloAdmin on October 06, 2016, 10:50:27 am »See Through Chief's Visor
If you get into a mongoose and you have the 3rd person view someone can get behind you and you can position yourselfs so that you are looking straight through his visor. This was only possible in the Halo 3 beta which has since long been lost in the sands of time. Hidden marine on "The Covenant" When you are close to when the scarabs drop find a ghost and go up the mountain side. Use your boost to climb the mountain.Keep going until you reach the top.Continue until you see the marine. (Remember to hurry!) Valhalla Date Messages When your Xbox console is set to different dates certain messages will appear on the side on one of the bases. - January 1st: Make Love Not War - April 22nd: A skull with a recycling sign. - May 5th: Toady Was Live! - July 4th: BBQ at Bob's Place - July 7th: Seventh Column Symbol. - October 31st: A grave stone reading R.I.P." - November 11th: Kilroy Was Here. - December 25th: A Christmas light with an X on it. Morse Code and Halo theme songs There is a Morse Code signal coming out of the radio on High Ground in the base behind the flag. There are 3 separate messages: First translates to "Frogblast the Ventcore" Second is an acronym "sababwl. This acronym also appears on the Halo Soundtrack. It relates to a quote by Joe Staten, who was quoting Marty O'Donnell, "XBOX Halo is shiny and bumpy and bursting with love!". The third translates into "Don't make us kick your ass". Then after the messages, you may hear some Halo theme songs playing off of the radio. Jason Jones Floating Cardboard Cutout Jason Jones, a man who has been once Again put into the game remains as a funny Easter Egg. He was in Halo 2 in an Easter Egg titled "Legendary Jason Jones Cardboard Cutout". Put into the game again, he is a common Easter Egg, not only as his tanned cardboard cut out but also as a "Missing" poster you may come across in out lists of Easter Eggs. When you start the level, go forward and hug the wall until you come to the point where you can jump down into the soon-to-be flood infested area. Turn right and go into a small forrunner structure with a terminal to the left, and a large gap with a blue light/laser beam streaming across it. The man is at the end of the corridor, on a platform to the left. You must grenade jump, or use the gravity hammer to launch yourself (or friends) onto the support beams ahead, then simply jump to the side-platform. If that fails, use the theater. Grunt Crossing In the Halo 3 Announcement Trailer, a 'Grunt Crossing' sign can be seen. This was also shown in the "E3: Making of the Documentary" video released by Bungie. Bungie's official response to this was: "The New Mombassa City Council had an incredibly efficient public works department until and even during the tragic and devastating Covenant invasion". This has got to be one of the cooler Halo 3 Easter Eggs out there. Frankie's Face on Moon Once again Frank O'Conner's face is printed on a texture as an Easter Egg by Bungie. Frankie was Bungie's weekly update writer and community manager for some years and was much loved by the community. He is printed on the moon on the map Standoff if you got the Heroic Map Pack. But the Easter Eggs don't stop there. Another one is of a Bungie employee standing on the platform of the satellites you can see in another Easter Egg within the list. Guy on Balcony A guy can be seen on a standing on a balcony on the edge of one of those massive satellites. You may need to grab a sniper and stand on something high in forge to spot him. Hippo Doll in Rubbish There is some sort of doll in the rubbish on Highground. You can find this by using your monitors light and looking under the stairs next to the pipe room. Whale on Longshore gradually opens eyes If you look at the picture of the whale on the wall over time, you will notice that it's eyes slowly open. Peeing Brute After busting into a room with a bunch of covenant you go through only to find a brute taking a leak in the corner. I enjoy assassinating this brute, he takes about 4 or 5 seconds to react to your presence. Hidden Missing Note Play the level until you reach a dead brute who had a gravity hammer and near it is a dead marine who had a SMG. Above the marine is an opening in the wall. Go into this opening with your flashlight on. On the ground you will see a MISSING note. It appears to be a Bungie employee (Jason Jones) that cannot be found. Happy Birthday Lauren If the current date is not December 25, set it to December 25 from the console dashboard while disconnected from Xbox Live. Load Halo 3 and start a Campaign mission. Once the loading screen begins, hold down both thumbsticks. You should see the view of the Halo ring pan out, making the message appear. Launching Halo 3 from the disc instead of from the hard drive will make the mission take longer to load, which will give more time to see the message before it goes away. If there are any other Halo 3 Easter Eggs you know of, post it! 16

Hologram Glitch
Somewhere in the level out in the open in front of the sniper base there is a flaming pillar. Go to it and get a wraith. Some people report that slowly pushing someone into that pillar will push them through and they will get killed by the guardians and other say that boosting them with a wraith works also. The idea is that you can force someone into the pillar and they when they are killed by the guardians they will spawn on top of the level. The effect is especially cool when you have a sword. Floating Guns In Quarantine Zone In the level Quarantine Zone, after the gondola ride ends and the chapter "That Old, Familiar Feeling" begins you might hear an Elite say that he hears something. You might also hear some faint static-like noise. This is the sound of two SMGs firing. To get to the source you need simply to get to the gondola the Humans were riding. The easiest way I found is to go to the end of "your' gondola nearest the gondola the Humans rode, and grenade jump from the rail to get on the structure in which some of your elites stand. Now, jump off this structure towards the part of "your" gondola that is nearest to the "human" gondola; be forewarned that the wall toward which you are jumping is fake, and you will pass through it. Make your way from the beam of "your" gondola to the beam of the other gondola via a jump. Now you need to grenade jump over a wall to be on the main part of the "human" gondola. As you near the exit of the gondola, and begin to enter the Library where you find a dead human you hear the static sound – the sound of SMGs firing. As you walk toward epicenter of the sound – the door leading toward the centre of the Library where the Index/Sacred Icon is found – you will see two SMGs floating in midair and firing – does this remind anyone of the level 343 Guilty Spark in Halo? You can "Hold X to swap" and the gun(s) will continue to fire in your hand. It only has one clip, so after a few seconds of it firing you just hear the trigger being pulled. You can also juggle the weapon toward/through the door and have it shoot at you in the cut scene if you so choose. The gun fires throughout the entire length of the cut scene. Your previous weapons will not, however, hover and shoot like the SMGs you swap. Scorpion Tank Pinball Enter the Zanzibar map with a Scorpion Tank in the heavy vehicle spawn. Push the tank into the windmill (or drive it in). This only works if your go front first and you're on the side facing the power generating station. As the windmill pushes the Scorpion upwards, drive forwards and if done correctly, the tank will fly out of the windmill, pinballing all over the place. If you know of any other glitches, post it! 19
Halo 2 / Easter Eggs« Last post by HaloAdmin on October 06, 2016, 10:36:36 am »Secret Message
If you managed to get out of the level "Backwash" there is a secret message for everyone who managed to break the bounds of the map. It reads "ITS LOOKIN A LITTLE ROUGH OUT HERE" and is written in red blood. Secret Heretic Banshee On The Great Journey, once you start the level, melee the white elite until he falls off of the cliff. Then melee the elite in the spectre, but don't hurt the spectre. You need to stand at an angle to do so. Then, don't drive any vehicles from then on. Walk past all the enemies (I recommend playing on easy for this to be done) and once you get to where there are two wraiths guarding a doorway, kill them by boarding them, and do this by ONLY melee. Then continue on through the doorway. Go on as you would normally through the level. At the part where you finally make it to the top floor where the scarab is, skip the cutscene. Then carefully jump down from the platform onto the ground. Go all the way to the beginning of the level, without using, firing, or destroying vehicles. Once you get to the cliff (that you push the elite off in the beginning), this is where that spectre (which you killed the elite inside at the beginning) comes in. Get in the spectre( ignoring the other spectres), drive it carefully off the cliff, and at the bottom, you will find a new heretic banshee with a dead elite under it. You may then fly the banshee outward toward the building. There is also another heretic banshee on the ground farther out. Good luck! Why am I here? On beaver creek if you go up up the ramp to the left side of the blue base you will see a rock that is loose. You can knock that rock down the bottom of the level and read the words underneath which are "Why am I here?". This is a nod to Rooster Teeth's "Red vs Blue" series. The first episode is called "Why are we here?". Soccer Ball This is a really cool easter eggs and there are a few ways to get it. You need to go part in Metropolis that is outside with the wraiths attacking you. There is a building that has been blasted open on one corner from the scarab beam. You can grenade jump up to it using the blasting abilities of the sputnik skull or use the banshee glitch that is also used to obtain the scarab gun. Hidden Bomb Message In multiplayer when you arm the bomb after you have put it down text appears on the top of the bomb. Different messages such as 'Thus I Refute Thee', 'Hold Onto Yer Butt' and 'Kiss It Goodbye' appear on the bomb depending on what multiplayer level you load. Hi Ben Start Regret and then proceed until you kill all of the Elites and Drones. Go outside and to your right you will see a temple without a bridge. Get up there (grenade jumping works) and go to the room at the right. Use your flashlight and go to the left corner and zoom in with your scope, you will see the hidden message "Hi Ben". Frankie's Face on Halo Ring If you download the Xbox live map "containment" and then use your sniper rifle to examine the Halo ring you will find none other than Frank O'conner's face in the ring. Frankie was Bungies weekly update writer and community manager for some years and was much loved by the community. His face once again appears in Halo 3's Standoff Moon in the Sky, along with another Easter Egg of three of the same Bungie employee standing on the platform of the Satellites. If you know of any other Easter Eggs, post it! 20
Halo Combat Evolved / Glitches« Last post by HaloAdmin on October 06, 2016, 10:31:41 am »Crazy Camera Halo Glitch
In the level 2, "Halo", under the easy difficulty setting, play through the sections normally but make sure that the last lifeboat you find is the one obtained by entering the building to find the marines. When the Pelican arrives for you to get on and fly away, go to your Warthog instead. Drive it up close to the Pelican, making sure that the side seat is facing the opening of the Dropship. If done correctly, the Pelican will fly off, but the camera will not know which vehicle to follow. The camera should fly around and go haywire. Note: This does not happen all the time. Fall To Your Death Halo Glitch In level 5, the section "I Want To Be Your Daddy" is the first that you see. In order to do this trick you have to be in single player mode. When the Dropship is about to let you out, quickly press X button to sit back down in the seat. You will fly down the pit and go around in circles as the Covenant tries to shoot you down. Once you wait long enough, the Dropship disappears from sight and you will float down to your doom. Warthog vs. Echo 4-19 Glitch On the "The Silent Cartographer" level, take the second Warthog on the island and put it were the Echo will crash. Resume playing the level through. When it crashes, look at the Warthog. It should be stuck in the Echo. If you know of any other glitches, post it! |
